in the static is aheadphonehome's first release. It combines subverted indie rock songwriter sentiment and intent, and combines it with elements from experimental electronica, post rock, shoegaze and ambient approaches to create an original, moving and stunningly detailed listen.

Working in an ex tyre factory in Brisbane's inner west, musician and producer Phil Laidlaw lovingly built the record up from cut up guitars, crunchy homemade beats, fuzzy old organ, op shop vinyl, radio intercepts and old tapes.
